AB A  total  abdominal  hysterectomy  is  performed  most  commonly  for  benign  conditions  of  the  uterus,  including  leiomyoma,  adenomyosis,  endometriosis,  pelvic  inflammatory  disease,  and  dysfunctional  uterine  bleeding.  Other  indications  include  neoplastic  conditions  of  the  cervix,  uterus,  and  ovaries.
