AB Urinary  obstruction  and  stasis  are  important  urologic  disorders  because  of  their  potential  to  damage  the  kidney.  Ureteral  obstruction  leads  to  hydroureteronephrosis,  and  eventually  kidney  atrophy  that  may  terminate  in  renal  failure.  Furthermore,  obstruction  often  is  complicated  by  infection,  which  can  result  in  systemic  complications  and  cause  additional  damage  to  other  organs.
