CASE 10: Hematoma, Infarction, and Rupture of a Kidney Transplant

Kidney transplant recipient who was taken back to the operating room in the immediate post-operative period to address lack of renal flow by Duplex Doppler ultrasound evaluation. A peri-transplant hematoma had also been identified.

Further inspection shows multiple ruptures (arrows). Note that there is no bleeding from the sites of parenchymal rupture as a result of the complete thrombosis of the organ.
