AB Tracheal  resection  is  performed  most  commonly  for  benign  disorders.  The  primary  indication  is  fibrotic  stenosis,  whether  idiopathic,  traumatic,  or  postintubation.  Occasionally,  tracheal  resection  is  indicated  for  neoplastic  disease  or  short-segment  malacia.
